On the afternoon of September 28, 2025, at UFM’s Long Truong Campus, the Faculty of Commerce and Tourism organized “PASSING THE TORCH 2025” to welcome Cohort 25D freshmen. The formal ceremony featured cultural performances, welcoming and orientation remarks by Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hiep, recognition of students with outstanding achievements in the 2025 National High School Graduation Examination, and introductions to the Faculty Youth Union, Students’ Association, clubs, teams, and student groups. A highlight of the event was the traditional “Passing the Torch” ceremony, symbolizing continuity, heritage, and creativity. The festival activities featured interactive booths, games, and team-building activities that encouraged connection and self-discovery. The event concluded on an inspiring note, marking the beginning of an exciting academic journey at UFM.

Formal Ceremony – Carrying forward the Flame of Tradition

The formal ceremony opened in a solemn yet vibrant atmosphere with a series of impressive cultural performances presented by students. From heartfelt melodies to energetic performances, the program brought the auditorium to life and reflected the creativity, enthusiasm, and youthful spirit that characterize students of the Faculty of Commerce and Tourism.

Following the opening performances, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hiep, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Tourism, delivered welcoming and orientation remarks to the new cohort. He emphasized the important role of freshmen in inheriting and further developing the Faculty’s traditions of academic achievement and personal development. He also expressed his confidence in the dynamism and creativity of Cohort 25D, whose members will contribute to the Faculty’s continued growth and future achievements.

While the formal ceremony created a sense of pride and tradition, the festival activities provided freshmen with an energetic environment in which to interact with the Executive Committees of the Faculty Youth Union and Students’ Association as well as affiliated clubs, teams, and student groups. Through interactive booths, games, challenges, and team-building activities, Cohort 25D students were able not only to enjoy an energetic and engaging experience but also to meet new friends, build connections, discover their own interests and strengths, and explore the diverse dimensions of student life at UFM. The vibrant atmosphere, enthusiastic participation, laughter, and strong sense of community spread throughout the Long Truong Campus, creating a memorable event that captured the youthful spirit of the Faculty of Commerce and Tourism.
