Connecting with Real-World Practice: UFM International Business Students Experience the Juki Vietnam Manufacturing Facility
A hands-on learning experience that brings students closer to the enterprise, the manufacturing environment, and their future careers
Rather than simply listening to an introduction about the company, students had the opportunity to step into the manufacturing facility, observe the production environment, and learn about the practical requirements of an internationally oriented manufacturing enterprise. These were among the highlights of the corporate visit to JUKI Vietnam Co., Ltd., organized on June 8, 2026 by the Faculty of Commerce and Tourism, University of Finance – Marketing (UFM), for lecturers and students of International Business.
From the introduction room to the manufacturing facility
The program began with an introduction to JUKI’s history, operations, and development direction. Students learned about the company’s history, business areas, organizational structure, markets, human resources, and corporate culture. This initial overview provided a foundation for students to understand the company before directly observing its working environment.

One of the most anticipated moments came when the group left the introduction room and headed toward the manufacturing area. At this point, knowledge was transformed into direct experience as students observed the factory space, the arrangement of production areas, and the requirements that must be followed when entering a real working environment.

Entering the production area – learning through direct observation
Entering the manufacturing area gave students a different perspective from learning about a company solely through classroom lectures. During the visit, students were guided through the production area and introduced to workplace safety requirements, work-space organization, operational processes, and quality management.

Students follow the company’s guidance as they approach the production area within the JUKI facility.
For International Business students, the factory experience went beyond observing machinery and the physical production environment. More importantly, it allowed students to visualize the connections between manufacturing and business operations, logistics, supply chains, import-export activities, and corporate management—areas directly relevant to their field of study.

Understanding the enterprise through people and organization
One of the aspects students could clearly experience during the visit was the organization and discipline of the corporate environment. From uniforms and employee identification to visitor regulations and operational arrangements, each detail contributes to a professional workplace.

Information about employee composition helps students better understand the organization and working environment at JUKI.
From the manufacturing experience to career orientation
Direct exposure to the company helped students develop a clearer understanding of what awaits them after graduation. Requirements related to professional knowledge, skills, workplace conduct, adaptability, and discipline became more tangible when observed in an actual working environment.
The program also provided opportunities for students to discuss internships, employment opportunities, and the competencies valued by employers. The visit therefore served not only as a practical experience but also as an opportunity for students to proactively prepare for their future careers.

Students exchange ideas and receive practical insights from the company.
A learning experience beyond the classroom, a step closer to the profession
According to the program’s summary report, the visit was implemented as planned, ensured safety, and received active support from JUKI Vietnam Co., Ltd. Students gained a better understanding of the real working environment, production processes, and professional requirements, while lecturers had an opportunity to update their practical knowledge for teaching purposes.
Although the visit took place during a single morning, its most valuable outcomes extended beyond the photographs students brought home. Students gained a more concrete understanding of the enterprise and the career path ahead. The activity also represented a practical step in strengthening university–enterprise collaboration and bringing education closer to the actual needs of the labor market.
