BrightExploring the Ancient Capital of Hue and “Painting the Days of Youth” with UFM Students – Journey of Praticum 1 (Tourism and Travel Service Management)
Summary: Students from Cohort 23D of the Tourism and Travel Service Management program (Faculty of Commerce and Tourism, University of Finance – Marketing / UFM) have just completed a meaningful professional internship trip to the ancient capital of Hue. Spanning seven days and six nights (August 25 – August 31, 2025), the journey allowed these young students to explore distinctive cultural heritage sites - such as the Hue Imperial Citadel, Thien Mu Pagoda, and the Nguyen Dynasty royal tombs - while directly engaging in practical activities related to accommodation, food and beverage, transportation, tour guiding, and cultural exchange. Furthermore, the students experienced the local lifestyle, cuisine, and the warmth of the Hue people, thereby enriching their knowledge, honing professional skills, and fostering a passion for the tourism and travel industry. The journey concluded with a heartwarming and emotional gala night, preserving beautiful memories of their youth while affirming the reputation, quality, and commitment of the University of Finance – Marketing and the University of Finance and Accountancy (Hue Campus) to an educational approach that bridges theory and practice.
“It was more than just a trip - it was a journey that allowed us to ‘touch’ the depth of our national culture and gain a clearer vision of our future career paths.” – shared by Dan Nha, a student, following the field study trip to Hue.

The journey begins with an exploration of traditional culture at Thuy Xuan Incense Village, followed by an examination of the architectural and historical significance of three iconic royal tombs: those of Emperors Tu Duc, Minh Mang, and Khai Dinh. In the evening, students immerse themselves in a *Ca Hue* (Hue chamber music) performance on the Perfume River - a distinctive intangible cultural heritage of the ancient capital.

The second day focuses on the imperial heritage route, featuring destinations such as the Hue Imperial Citadel, Thien Mu Pagoda, and An Dinh Palace. Here, students not only broaden their specialized knowledge but also directly observe and analyze models of heritage management and conservation, as well as cultural and spiritual tourism.

The trip concluded with a diverse range of experiences: exploring the historical significance of the Princess Huyen Tran Temple, visiting Quoc Hoc Hue School - a long-standing symbol of education—and discovering local economic and social life at Dong Ba Market.

By actively observing, analyzing, and practicing tour commentary at each destination, students had the opportunity to effectively apply theoretical knowledge to real-world practice. The trip served not only as an educational experience beyond the classroom but also as a professional internship, allowing students to hone their skills, cultivate a passion for the profession, and gain a deeper understanding of the value of national heritage.
Furthermore, the experience of *Ca Huế* (Hue chamber music) on the Perfume River - a UNESCO-recognized Intangible Cultural Heritage - left an indelible impression. Amidst the shimmering ambiance of the river, the harmonious blend of court music and traditional folk melodies stirred a sense of pride in national identity within every student.

Bringing the journey to a close, the heartwarming Gala Dinner fostered a sense of connection, allowing students to showcase their creativity and teamwork while expressing their gratitude to their instructors. It was more than just a festive gathering; it was an emotionally resonant highlight that reignited each participant's passion for their chosen profession.
On the evening of August 29, 2025, the "Mộng Kinh Kỳ" (Dream of the Ancient Capital) Gala Dinner took place in an intimate setting, marking the conclusion of the meaningful "Professional Practice 1" journey for Class 23D students majoring in Tourism and Travel Service Management. Far more than a mere party, the event served as a stage to bring the dream of the ancient capital to life through moments of brilliance and deeply moving experiences.

The first professional internship in the ancient capital of Hue for UFM’s Class 23D students majoring in Tourism and Travel Service Management was not merely a journey of practical experience but also a vibrant highlight of their youth. Valuable lessons regarding cultural heritage, professional skills, and teamwork left a lasting impression on every student.
